Section 2 - EMERGENCY OPERATIONS

250.10 Inventory of Station Supplies

PURPOSE:

To ensure all necessary station supplies/consumables are stocked in accordance with established inventory levels.

PROCEDURE:

Station lieutenants are responsible for the accurate count of supplies/consumables. All station supplies/consumables will be stored in a central location within each station in a clear, designated spot. Items shall be neatly stored and organized so inventory can be easily counted. When newly ordered items arrive for restocking, the shift on duty is responsible for placing the items in their designated location, as well as, notifying the party responsible for updating the inventory count within the computer-based system. Supply minimum and maximum limits will be set by fire administration, but can be adjusted with input from the lieutenants, through their battalion chiefs.

SUNDAY STATION DETAIL

Sunday is station detail day. On the second and fourth Sunday of every month, the station lieutenant is responsible for thoroughly counting station supplies/inventory of consumables. This count will indicate what stock each station has available. This inventory count will generate a notification to the Administrative Assistant if supplies are low and the established amount will be ordered and sent to the respective station for re-stocking.
