RE: Central Venous Access
Obtaining venous access utilizing an external jugular vein or an intraosseous approach are considered types of central venous access points.
Effective immediately . . . . When a patient’s condition is such that requires the utilization of an external jugular vein or intraosseous access point for the purposes of treatment and resuscitation these patients must be transported to the hospital for further evaluation and management of their condition.
